Privacy glass



Privacy glass is designed by principles of polymer liquid-crystal optics. In the natural state, liquid crystal droplets are aligned randomly in the polymer and the reflective index of liquid crystal does not match that of polymer (np ≠ ne), so the incident lights are scattered, resulting in a translucent state. When an electrical field is applied, the liquid crystal droplets reorients so its extraordinary relective index matches that of polymer (np = ne), resulting in a transparent state.
Typical applications include control room and command center for govenrment facilities, executive offices and conference room, special effects for entertainment industry, exhibition, and outdoor advertisement.

Principle and structure of product 

As shown in figures, the principle of product is as follows:  

(1)When smart glass is turned off, the high molecular liquid crystal material in glass presents disorder arrangement, light can not pass through the glass, the glass appears cream white nontransparent state.  

(2)When smart glass is turned on, due to the effect of the electric field, the high molecular liquid crystal material in glass presents ordered arrangement, light can pass through the glass, the glass appears transparent state.
